Man oh man, life is feeling crazy. I am exhausted. The house should be done in just over two weeks, which is also when the baby is due to arrive.
I half-packed my hospital bag this past weekend in the event that baby day comes sooner than I'd like. I'm a half-packer; I just don't understand how people are so prepared for things. (Even when I'm traveling, I always have my flat iron cooling off outside when our ride to the airport shows up.) But as long as I'm half-packed, I'm feeling pretty good about myself. And my mom picked up some baby dolls and accessories for us to give the girls when they come to visit the new baby at the hospital, which will be so fun. So I'm feeling pretty prepared in that aspect. Or as prepared as you can feel for a huge, life-changing event!
37 weeks this week and still feeling pretty good. Had a little scare this week with some back pains, nausea, etc., but (knock on wood) it seems to have passed!
(Pic below from my Mom's birthday this weekend. Maternity shots with my sister. :))
And girls...you are 22 months old as of yesterday! At 22 months you are adorable, moody, unpredictable, full of tantrums some days, and sweet as pie with hugs and kisses on others. You make this mama want to pull her hair out one minute, and cry tears of joy for the sweet blessings that you are the next.
Your favorite words right now:
Baby A: Mama - everyone is mama, even Grandma and Grandpa's neighbor Bob, who, sweet child, I hope doesn't resemble your Mama even one bit. (Your real mama thinks he looks a little like a Weeble.) I love that you've finally learned, "please", which sounds like "bees" but we'll take it. Now to work on "thank you"!
Baby B - currently, your favorite word is "help", but it sounds like "hewp" and it's a desperate plea for everything, even when you just want to get out of your crib. It's adorable. And I really need to record you saying, "hi" in the morning to everyone...it's one of those sounds I never want to forget. You can be quite the NON-morning person, lady, but when you are in a good mood, your morning "hi" has the sweetest ring to it in the world. Also, you think everything is so cute, saying "awwww" to every real animal, stuffed animal and baby doll you see.
Life keeps trucking along, and you keep growing and learning and changing. You've learned lately what a "time out" means, and seem to be EXTRA sweet when time outs are over...so I think you may actually kind of get it. Baby A, you amaze me in the way you study every little detail about what the people around you are doing. You know how to do everything the grown ups do, and get very frustrated when we don't let you help. Baby B is more like I expect a one-year-old to be...playing with toys, watching cartoons. You two are so incredibly different from each other. And when you actually play together, it is the cutest thing I've ever seen. You chase each other around and squeal and tackle each other and laugh and laugh. You are tiny little miracles I get to witness on a daily basis. I am so blessed.
It will be so interesting to see how you handle Baby C's arrival. (It will actually be interesting to see how we all handle it.) As much as I still hope he/she doesn't make an appearance for the next 2 weeks, I can't wait to meet the little acrobat that's been turning somersaults in my belly for the past few weeks!
